SUBJECT: [Action for all Sousa Parents]: Set your Directory privacy settings + Update your record in new system asap


 

The Sousa HSA is excited to announce that we will be using Membership Toolkit for our School Directory starting with the 2019-2020 school year.  

The Directory is the main way that the HSA and your class liaisons will communicate important information with your family.

We kindly ask you to check/update your family’s information by Sept 1, 2019.  Ensure you are comfortable with your privacy preferences for sharing your family’s information!  Scroll below for details on how to Get Started, Benefits of Membership Toolkit App, Privacy FAQs ðŸ˜Š

  • Correct your email information for teacher/class liaison, school & HSA comms
  • Sync the entire school calendar to your phone calendar
  • Add contacts for other parents to your phone with a few simple clicks

Get Started - Membership Toolkit Account: 

1. Go to https://sousa.membershiptoolkit.com (you *must* register via website before using App for first time)

2. Click on the Register/Login button.

~ If you already have an account with another school that uses Membership Toolkit you can use the same email and password to login. You can then proceed to step (3) below.

~ If you need to create a new account, select "Create Account" and fill in the name, email, and password information. 

~ Click "verify my email" and then check your email for a link to complete the process. The link expires in 2 hours. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.

~ Once you have verified your email address, log back in and finish the registration process. 

3. Complete the Parent/Family and Student Information.

4. Complete the Directory/Publish Preferences. Enables you to opt out of sharing some or all of your information.

5. "Invite" other email addresses to access the account.  This allows the Secondary User to have his/her own login information, but still have access to the family account. This can all be done under My Account/Account Settings.  (If you have previously requested a separate account for each parent/guardian, the separate account should have migrated to Membership Toolkit.  If you now require a separate account, please contact sousadirectory@gmail.com.

6. Now, download the Membership Toolkit App for Iphoneor Android!!

For Iphones – from App Landing/Home page:

  • To synch calendar to your phone– select calendar icon/click on calendar icon in top right hand corner/click on slider button/click on ‘Synch to device calendar’
  • To add contact information for a parent of another child to your phone– select Directory icon/search for child or parent in directory, click on face icon with + sign button in top right hand corner of directory which opens a new contact in your phone.

Q. Who is my information shared with in the Sousa Directory?

A. Sousa’s Directory is only shared with Sousa families, and is only accessible to Sousa families and staff (if you do have another student at Weber or Schreiber, and are using the same email address, your log in credentials will remain the same, however the information is *not* shared between the Directories for each of the schools). 

Q. Can I opt out of sharing any or all of my information, and when is the deadline to complete my changes?

A. Yes you can completely opt out of being listed in the Membership Toolkit Directory and Class Lists. However, this is not recommended, since the purpose of the School Directory is to account for, and include your child in various class/school activities. Additionally, other parents in your class will often use the Directory for event planning, invites etc.

Instead, it is recommended to opt in to the Directory, and set your privacy settings to share limited information, such as your family’s names and, ideally, one form of contact that you are comfortable with, such as email address.

There is no deadline on making changes, you are able to change your privacy settings at any time.
